SWK 3000. Narrative Approaches to Understanding Today’s Older Population (3 credits) Participants will interview members of their community in their 5th, 6th and 7th decade of life to understand how the roles of older people are changing in cultures of North Carolina and in particular the cultures accessible to the University. Participants will be able to understand how life stories from social history can preserve cultural and personal identity. The use of story will also be examined in preserving the personhood of people with Alzheimer’s disease. PREREQ: SWK 2000 is recommended.
