FIN 5400. Corporate Finance (3 credits) Course provides students with the tools necessary for evaluating the intrinsic value of a corporation, as well as assessing a corporation’s effectiveness in maximizing its value. Topics cover sizing up business; measuring performance; managing day-to-day cashflows; projecting financial requirements and managing growth; assessing cost of capital, risk, and payout decisions; explaining how taxes, financial distress, and asymmetric information affect capital structure decisions; designing optimal capital structure; and measuring and creating value.
