NUR 3030. Foundations of Professional Nursing Practice (4 credits) 2-6 This course uses theoretical and evidence-based frameworks to introduce students to the knowledge, skills, and attitudes fundamental to professional nursing practice across all practice settings. Emphasis is placed on the application of the nursing process to guide clinical reasoning and decision-making for the provision of safe and appropriate nursing care in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice. The clinical component provides the opportunity for students to integrate theory and practice and develop beginning proficiency in the delivery of basic nursing care with individual clients. Clinical learning includes simulation experiences and placement in clinical settings. PREREQ: Admission to Professional Program, Pre-licensure BSN students only. COREQ: NUR 3010 .
