NUR 3300. Gerontological Nursing (3 credits)

This course examines the physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual aspects of aging, within the context of family and society. Emphasis is on trends, theories, evidence-based findings, and multidimensional changes of aging and the use of the nursing process as a framework for addressing issues related to health promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention in older adults. PREREQ: NUR 3000  or permission of instructor. This course is NOT REQUIRED FOR THE DEGREE for pre-licensure BSN students.
