Social Welfare, Minor

The Department of Social Work offers a minor in social welfare. A minor in social welfare introduces students to the basic social welfare concepts, structure and services. Students will be introduced to cultural competency and knowledge about diverse populations, human development from infancy through old age within the context of social environments, and the factors that influence social welfare policy.
To enroll in any minor course the student must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.00. Students interested in declaring a minor should schedule an appointment with their advisor and submit a declaration of minor form to the Registrar. Please contact the Department of Social Work to schedule an appointment with the BSW Program Director for advising.

Required Courses: 12 Sem. Hrs.
Requirements for a Minor in Social Welfare Required Social Work Electives: 6 Sem. Hrs.
Chose any 2 Social Work Electives Total: 18 Sem. Hrs.
NOTE: Students must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher before enrolling in any courses for the Minor in Social Welfare. |
