Addictions Counseling, Graduate Certificate


The Graduate Certificate in Addictions Counseling is a 12 credit hour program that prepares addiction professionals to meet the increasing complex needs of individuals and families dealing with substance use and addiction. The curriculum includes coursework in areas of substance-related and addictive disorders, co-occurring disorders, methods and theories of substance use assessment and intervention, psychopharmacology and addiction, family impact of substance disorders, and current issues and special population in addiction. To remain in the GCAC, students must earn a final grade B or higher in CNS 5860, CNS 5870, CNS 5890 and CNS 5900. Students who earn a final grade of C or lower in any of these courses will be removed from the certificate program.
