ITC 3250. System Administration (3 credits)

This course introduces students to the essential knowledge and skills that system administrators possess. This course reviews the basic operating system concepts, including process and thread management, memory management, file systems, and input/output systems as well as various administration services. It covers system administration topics focuses on integrating systems and user support services. Topics explored include security, user and group administration, system update and maintenance, backup and restore technologies, as mass storage technologies. PREREQ: ITC 2080  and ITC 2700 .
