SOC 3140. Collective Behavior and Social Movements (3 credits) Provides a theoretical background and some analytical tools for understanding the nature and scope and cultural and historical roots of social movements world-wide and examines the growing linkages among local, national and global movements. Collective behavior movements covered include those of peasants, indigenous peoples, women and others to achieve greater local autonomy, environmental and gender justice.
