ENG 3140. American Realism and Naturalism (3 credits)

A critical study of US American literature from Reconstruction to WWI in relation to social and cultural influences. May include a discussion of industrialization, urbanization, immigration, and regionalization, as well as genres such as autobiographies, short stories, novels, poetry, and essays. PREREQ: ENG 3040 or permission of the instructor.
