ENG 4830. Second Language Acquisition (3 credits) An in-depth study of theoretical issues in second language acquisition and the practical application of theory in the second language classroom, including how universal variables (e.g., age, cognition), individual difference variables (e.g., affect, motivation), and socio-cultural variables (e.g., sociopolitical environment, gender) influence language learning and how this knowledge can be applied to language teaching.
