PED 4200. Health and Physical Education Content Knowledge (3 credits) The purpose of this course is for students to acquire the necessary content knowledge needed to teach health and physical education. Knowledge will be split into two parts which includes health education and physical education. Health education will consist of (a) health education as a discipline/health instruction and (b) health education content. Physical Education knowledge will consist of three parts which includes (a) content knowledge and growth and development, (b) management, motivation, communication/collaboration, reflection, and technology, and (c) planning, instruction, and student assessment. At the end of the course, students will complete the Praxis II. PREREQ/COREQ: PED 3420
