PED 4100. Adapted Physical Education (3 credits) An introductory course in the field of Adapted Physical Education that provides an understanding of the nature, behavioral characteristics, and motor limitations of various disabilities and basic skills necessary to prepare meaningful individualized movement experiences of individuals with special needs functioning in an integrated, segregated, community or home environment. The course syllabus is a general plan for the course; deviations announced to the class by the instructor may be necessary. Universal design and least restrictive environment will be utilized so that all students can be successful within the classroom.
