MAT 1055. Quantitative Reasoning (3 credits) Students will apply mathematical and statistical methods to enhance conceptual understanding of mathematics in the real-world. The course will cover statistical methods, analyzing graphs, detecting bias, using data to make informed decisions, categorical statistics, univariate statistics, linear regression, and overall reason critically about the world by using quantitative methods and appropriate technology. This course is intended to be a general education course for non-STEM majors who do not require MAT 1070 (college algebra).
