OCCT 5450. Pediatrics in Occupational Therapy I (3 credits) This course will focus on typical human development from conception through young adulthood. Students will study key developmental domains including motor, cognitive, sensory, perceptual, adaptive, play, and social skills; emotional and behavioral regulation; and the typical sequence of skill acquisition and developmental milestones. An emphasis on referral, screening, and evaluation/assessment portions of the occupational therapy process will introduce the occupational performance and participation of children from the perspective of the child’s development, individual skills, and environmental influences.
