The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) with a specialization in Birth to Kindergarten allows students to continue their studies, after earning a bachelor’s degree, and focus on earning a North Carolina teaching license for Birth to Kindergarten. The Birth to Kindergarten MAT is a 30-hour, fully online program. The program includes nine 3-credit courses and a 3-credit, full-semester internship (Placement must be in a Birth-Kindergarten classroom in North Carolina). Individuals who complete the Birth to Kindergarten Master of Art in Teaching Program are eligible for an initial level teaching license through the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction after successful completion of the MAT program and passing all mandated testing requirements in place by the State of North Carolina.

Birth to Kindergarten Content: 6 Sem. Hrs.
Birth to Kindergarten Pedagogy: 12 Sem. Hrs.
Internship: 3 Sem. Hrs.
Culminating clinical practice for initial teacher licensure. Course requirements include completion of program and licensure requirements, including full-time pre-service student internship or in-service teaching in a public-school setting in the licensure area. |
